After his death the people of Bilbrook subscribed towards the cost of building a porch in his memory. Over the entrance to the porch is a tablet marking the splendid work that he did in the early days of Holy Cross. Lane Green and Bilbrook were originally 2 separate hamlets, and the Old Village Green on the corner of Bilbrook Road and Joey's Lane was the original Bilbrook green.
