Cornero later built The SS Rex in downtown Las Vegas, which later became the Apache Casino, then the Horseshoe, and is now called Binion's. In the early 1950s, Cornero bought a 40-acre parcel on The far lesser (but profitable) SS REX was operated as a gambling ship off Los Angeles by Anthony Cornero.
