Karl Duldig (1902-1986) studied art in Vienna between 1923 to 1933, interrupted by his success in sport, first as a soccer international, then as a tennis player and finally as a table-tennis title holder. After travelling extensively in Europe, he shared a studio in Vienna with Arthur Fleischmann (1935-1938), before departing for Singapore where he ran an art school for a year. Arriving in A Malayan Bungalow features drawings, sculptures, photographs and remarkable historic documents that traces artists' Karl and Slawa Duldig's lives in Singapore from their arrival in May 1939 to their eventual deportation in September 1940 and internment in Australia.
