Every trainee needs to present evidence to a panel of deanery educationalists and a lay person via their e portfolio, that they are learning the skills needed to become a GP. This is done by collecting evidence throughout the year by a mixture of formal assessments such as case based discussions, multi-source feedback and ARCP panels review all aspects of your portfolio and give an outcome based on a judgment about your progress. Panel outcomes will appear on the portfolio and you are required to accept the ARCP form. Panels are made up of a minimum of 3 members who may include GP educators, RCGP representatives, lay members, and representatives of employers. The Deanery will notify you of the dates of your ARCP, you will receive an email approximately six months ahead of your ARCP and then eight weeks prior to the date of your ARCP.
