23 May 2022. CLYDE Gateway has announced it is investing £1.67 million to breathe new life into the Olympia House building at Bridgeton Cross, creating 350 sqm of commercial office space. In what will become New Olympia House, contractor Redpath Construction will oversee the refurbishment of the two-storey red sandstone building that retains Bridgeton Cross is a historic junction in Bridgeton in Glasgow's East End. It was the meeting place of seven different streets, five of them considered suitable to be made A roads in 1922, with a layout that can be loosely described as two adjacent crossroads.In recent years, one of the streets has been closed up, another made buses only, and two more are now one-way with traffic calming Clyde Gateway is investing £1.67 million to breathe new life into the landmark Olympia House building in the heart of Bridgeton Cross, creating 350 sqm of modern and flexible commercial office space. The Olympia is located at Bridgeton Cross in Glasgow and is one of the city's finest examples of historical conservation and regeneration. Delivered on behalf of Clyde Gateway, working in partnership with Page/Park Architects, the building represents the upgrade of the former Olympia Cinema (undertaken as part of the city's commitment to improving civic infrastructure for the 2014 Olympia Bridgeton Building Development.
