The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) (Japanese: 末日聖徒イエス・キリスト教会) was established in Japan in 1901 when the church's first missionaries arrived on August 12. The Frankfurt Dialect Research Programme (FraDiReP), run by Carsten Keil, is a privately funded research project on the language, or dialect, spoken, once and today, in the area around Frankfurt (Main), Germany. The Frankfurt dialect, or Frankorderisch, is a flavour of the mid German Hessian dialect Hessisch. The Church has 182 dedicated houses of the Lord, of which 177 are currently operating. Four — the Salt Lake, Manti Utah, Stockholm Sweden and San Diego California temples — are undergoing renovations.
