The Nelson House (or Thomas Nelson House) is a Georgian home built early in the 18th century. It became the home of its buidler's grandson, Thomas Nelson, Jr. Thomas Nelson, Jr., went on to sign the Declaration of Independence and was part of Gen. Washington's army. The Nelson descendants owned the house until 1908. In 1968, the National Park Service purchased the house and restored it to its appearance in 1781.
