Debbie Glassberg, a Kansas City resident and toy designer, has been the talk of the town since construction began on her modern, eco-friendly home made entirely of steel shipping containers. The building process began in early 2009 after the containers arrived from China, with Glassberg and her boyfriend serving as contractors. Glassberg's 17-year-old son, Sam Glassberg, also will live there. The shipping containers are standard dimensions at 40 feet long and 8 feet wide. But Glassberg's containers are taller than the Glassberg. Debbie Glassberg (founder/owner of Home Contained) and BNIM Architects collaborated to design this beautiful residence that was constructed from five units in the Brookside neighborhood of Kansas City, Missouri.
