Yang Fudong is a contemporary Chinese artist known for his films and photographs which explore feelings of displacement in society. Many of Yang's films do not focus on a linear narrative, but rely on the interaction of characters and mood to tell a story. Born in 1971 in Beijing, China, Yang received a BFA in painting from the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou in 1995.
