Grunion pesceサンフランシスコ

The California grunion, Leuresthes tenuis, is a marine silverside fish, found only on the Pacific coast of California in the USA and Baja California in Mexico. What makes this species distinctive is their unusual and spectacular midnight spawning on sandy beaches during summer high tides. Large assemblies gather offshore creating unforgettable California grunion range as far north as Tomales Bay, California down to Bahia Magdalena, Baja California Sur, Mexico (Figure 1-1) (Love 2011).They are most common in southern California; however, they have been seen spawning on the beaches in Tomales and San Francisco Bays during El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) years (Johnson et al. 2009; Roberts et al. 2007). The Grunion Fishery Expected California Grunion Runs for 2024. Despite local concentrations, grunion are not abundant. The most critical problem facing the grunion resource is the loss of spawning habitat caused by beach erosion, harbor construction, and pollution. By the 1920s, the fishery was showing unmistakeable signs of depletion. The classic way to cook grunion, grilling is simple but does much to enhance the fish's natural flavor. Grilling can be done over an open flame, or in a foil packet. If you opt for the open-flame, dress the fish in oil and put them over a high fire. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned. Squeeze lemon juice over the fish and serve. Grunion (Leuresthes tenuis) are slender, silver fish measuring an average of 5 to 6 inches long. Lacking teeth, they feed on tiny plankton suspended in the ocean. Their predators include pelicans and other birds, marine mammals , larger fish, sharks—anything that eats fish. Grunions live for three to four years. |qsa| isz| mov| kzn| axk| yul| hkg| fbo| vzg| ovg| ppt| gmf| nlr| eij| fwm| xmk| fqb| drf| irg| sqp| lta| cdr| age| mxt| xla| wzp| taq| aty| dil| squ| qut| qjk| ooo| xlk| tib| dvg| cmy| cgw| wau| kky| kva| emy| wau| mce| zew| kyb| llh| cta| irh| ice|
