The team trains at various pools in the Houston area and participates in local, regional, and national meets. The team also provides swim lessons, masters swimming, and water polo. Swimmers can get cold between events, so most families bring several towels for each swimmer. Sweatshirt, sweatpants, and a blanket are recommended for cooler evenings. Sunscreen is important for early on in the meet. The Thornwood Thunder Swim Team is open to all Thornwood residents age 5 to 16. It is a great introduction to team swimming and provides excellent conditioning for fall sports. We offer training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels.
