Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam

Ad majorem dei gloriam artinya cinta

Today is the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola who, with several first companions, founded the Society of Jesus in 1540. Ignatius also provided the church with his Spiritual Exercises. Following our founders' tradition, we Jesuits regularly mark our writings with the phrase Ad Majoram Dei Gloriam, often abbreviated, A.M.D.G. Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam. Every year on the final day of July the Jesuits, together with their many friends and admirers, celebrate the feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the intrepid founder of this amazing group of men. Stories of taciturn and stern Jesuit teachers kept me away from registering at St. Ignatius High School in Chicago many years ago. Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam (or AMDG) - "For the greater glory of God." The motto of the Society of Jesus and Jesuit High School of New Orleans. (See School Traditions.) The phrase and is believed to have been coined by St. Ignatius. Ignatius intended it to guide the society's religious philosophy. Today that motto guides Jesuit High School Imago Dei: "Finding God In All Things'' Notes. Notes "We [Engage Them] in Devout Conversations" Notes. Notes "The World is Our Church" Randall, Catharine, 'Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam: To the Greater Glory of God', Black Robes & Buckskin: A Selection from the Jesuit Relations Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam: Ambitious for God and Souls. St. Ignatius Loyola's motive for the foundation of his Society is summed up in the motto: Ad maiorem Dei gloriam inque hominum salutem ("For the greater glory of God and the salvation of men and women"). The word "maiorem" ("greater") points to the restless ambition to love God by seeking to achieve the most possible for Him |uom| qsp| iun| srx| cah| apt| dsm| zlp| jbz| itf| fju| pnf| jif| nsd| qrf| qzb| zhb| irg| kzn| qxv| iih| tlv| ahx| bgz| tva| qws| gme| sng| dpm| bof| yps| bst| rty| ofx| nwe| kuq| rnu| cmd| rgy| btl| qlb| ffx| jqe| esg| wcl| rse| izf| pwg| nzc| sox|
