An acquaintance mentioned Mount Misery a few years back as a wonderful (and free) place to cross country ski. Trails are wide and plentiful with both flat and sloping terrain. The trails are marked although I could have used a decent trail map; the gps on my smart phone worked fine and got me back to the parking lot.
