Made a CBGB pilgrimage to the village and really enjoyed the vibe of the Varvatos store. The lighting is a little low but the salvaged original graffiti on the rough walls and the original stage are sweet. John Varvatos was made famous by the 1992 print ads featuring Mark Wahlberg on those Time Square billboards back in the day. Then it all CBGB, the undeniable birthplace of New York City's Rock, Folk and Punk Music, kicked-off its 50th anniversary at 315 Bowery. Hosted by John Varvatos, The GRAMMY Museum and The Clive Davis Institute, the evening honored the music, fashion, and culture that defined the legendary space.
