Emmit McHenry (born July 12, 1943, in Forrest City, Arkansas), is an American entrepreneur and company builder. Biography. He grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, attending Stewart Elementary School, Carver Middle School and Booker T. Washington High School. He received his B.S. in communications from the University of Denver in 1966. He enlisted in the Emmit McHenry's story is one of remarkable achievement and unwavering dedication. Emmit McHenry created the internet. Emmitt McHenry was born a preacher's grandson in Forrest City, Arkansas in 1943. He was an inventor, an entrepreneur, an engineer, and a trailblazer. Emmit McHenry made the .com, .edu, .net, and .gov domain names. After recieving his B.Sc and MSc in Communications, Emmit McHenry started Network Solutions with a few of his associates. Sixteen years later, the U.S Government granted their engineering venture a contract. The company, which McHenry founded in 2017, expects to raise $113 million in the transaction and intends to use the proceeds to acquire smaller companies and eventually triple its 80-person headcount.
