Jeremy Deller (born 30 March 1966) is an English conceptual, video and installation artist. Much of Deller's work is collaborative; it has a strong political aspect, in the subjects dealt with and also the devaluation of artistic ego through the involvement of other people in the creative process. He won the Turner Prize in 2004 and represented Jeremy Deller. 1993. This exhibition took place at a point in my career when I wanted to show work, but I didn't really know where or how to show it. A lot of artists were having 'open studio' exhibitions at the time, but I didn't have a studio — I was living with my parents and was working from my bedroom at this point — so I Jeremy Deller emblazoned this William Morris quotation on a poster he co-designed with Scott King in 2010 for Save the Arts, a campaign against cuts to public funding of the creative industries.
