Thamarassery Churam is situated on National Highway 766 (previously NH 212), which connects Kozhikode (Calicut) to Wayanad in Kerala.The pass is characterized by steep and winding roads as it cuts through the Western Ghats. It offers breathtaking views of the surrounding lush green hills and valleys. The pass reaches an elevation of around 900 The ghat pass ("churam") begins from Adivaram (downhills), while coming from Kozhikkode and ends at Lakkidi, the beginning of Wayanad district. There is a view point at the top of the ghat pass just after the 9th hairpin and before reaching Lakkidi.
