The parish of Farnham Royal included in 1831 the hamlets of Hedgerley Dean, Seer Green and Salt Hill. (fn. 1) In 1847, however, Seer Green became an ecclesiastical parish, and both it and Hedgerley Dean were civil parishes in 1901.
