Introduction. Duane retraction syndrome (DRS) is one of the congenital cranial dysinnervation disorders characterized by limitation of horizontal eye movements, globe retraction, and vertical movements in adduction.1, 2 The incidence of DRS is 1%-4% of strabismus patients. 3 This syndrome is caused by congenital hypoplasia or absence of sixth nerve and nuclei with aberrant innervations by MRI in Duane retraction syndrome: preliminary results.
