Each year the Open Exhibition provides an exciting opportunity for artists to display and sell artwork. Visitors can expect to see a fascinating array of artwork including impressive paintings, sculptures, photography, ceramics, and textiles, […] Ferens Art Gallery is home to one of the UK's finest art collections, from world-famous paintings to local treasures. You'll find artwork on display from the medieval period right up to the present day. So there's something for everyone to enjoy. We also host an exciting, changing exhibition programme. Check out What's on at Ferens for Opening hours. Monday to Saturday, 10am-4.30pm. Sunday, 11am-4pm. Last admission: 30 minutes before closing. The café closes an hour before the museum. We open on bank holidays (except Good Friday). We're closed 24-28 December and 1 January. Free admission. The gallery is home to a broad permanent collection with important works by Canaletto, Helen Chadwick, Frans Hals, Henry Moore and Stanley Spencer. Contemporary artists featured include Ian Breakwell, Nan Goldin, David Hockney, Craigie Horsfield, Gavin Turk, Mark Wallinger and Gillian Wearing.
