The origins of Nature Canada date back to 1939 with the establishment of the magazine Canadian Nature.The magazine led to the founding of the Canadian Audubon Society in 1948, the predecessor of the Canadian Nature Federation. The Canadian Museum of Nature resides on the traditional, unceded territory of the Anishinābe Algonquin people who have stewarded this land for thousands of years.
