I was born to Macedonian immigrants from Northern Greece in Naarm/Melbourne in the late 70s. My grandfather came to Australia to seek a better life for his family to escape the poverty of that region in the late 40s, and they all arrived by boat, from villages ruined by civil war, in the early 1950s.
