Ramesh Balsekar touched the lives of a generation of spiritual seekers, seekers drawn to a deeper investigation into the experience of being alive. He was an energetic, imaginative, unpredictable teacher. We loved his compassion, clarity, questioning spirit and encouragement, and his humanity also left a deep mark. Ramesh Balsekar was one of the first teachers whose writings I encountered. A man of the world, a businessman, he rose to become President of the Bank of India. In his latter years, he was a Ramesh Balsekar - Natural Votary of Peace, 'Godfather of Soul', and his Gurus My Father often talked of three kinds of pain in life: physical pain, psychological pain and financial pain. After the death of her husband, my oldest friend in Bangalore found herself in dire circumstances - that too after having lived a life of plenty. All Ramesh S. Balsekar (25 May 1917 - 27 September 2009) was an Indian Advaita teacher and physical culturist. He was disciple and principle translator of Nisargadatta Maharaj, a renowned Advaita master. From early childhood, Balsekar was drawn to Advaita, a nondual teaching, particularly the teachings of Ramana Maharshi and Wei Wu Wei.He wrote more than 20 books, was president of the Bank of Letter To God.
