Tomaree National Park provides a magnificent backdrop to the coastal villages of Nelson Bay, Shoal Bay, Fingal Bay, One Mile, Boat Harbour and Anna Bay. With 27km of connected hiking Tomaree Coastal Walk offers Quick Overview. Officially opened on the 1st of September 2023, the Grade 4 Tomaree Coastal Walk is Port Stephens' newest overnight hike, just 2.5 hours north of Sydney on the NSW coast. The point-to-point route spans 27 km from Tomaree Head Summit to Birubi Point through Tomaree National Park. The entire hike can be completed in 2 days, with Tomaree National Park is easily accessible from Nelson Bay and Anna Bay. It surrounds the towns of Boat Harbour, Shoal Bay and Fingal Bay. Take the Pacific Highway from Newcastle or Buladelah, turn east into Richardson Road and continue along Nelson Bay Road. For Shoal Bay and Fingal Bay, continue along Stockton Street before turning right into Tomaree National Park is located on the coast of New South Wales, on Worimi land and the shores of the Tasman Sea. Its landscape consists of beautiful white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters that are bordered by bush forests, which in turn are home to several animal species including koalas and many birds.
