Semonite, USACE Commanding General and the 54th U.S. Army Chief of Engineers, has signed the Chief's Report for the "Delaware Beneficial Use of Dredged Material for the Delaware River Feasibility Study" — a key milestone for the proposed project. The USACE Philadelphia District has formed teams and conducted initial site assessments at multiple locations in New Jersey. Similar site assessments will take place at multiple locations in Delaware. The teams will provide assessments to the states that provide information on the possible conversion of existing buildings into alternate-care That experience is all in a day's work for a team of engineers who conduct bridge inspections and evaluations for USACE. The Bridge Inspection & Evaluation Center of Expertise, based in Philadelphia, consists of 15 engineers who provide design and evaluation services, ten of whom are also rope-access certified technicians. The General Services Administration Mid-Atlantic Region awarded a contract to lease new office space for the USACE Philadelphia District at 1650 Arch Street in Center City Philadelphia. As part of the relocation, more than 300 USACE employees will depart the Wanamaker Building in October and November 2022.
