(WASHINGTON, DC) - Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED) announced the closing of financing on Barry Farm, a historically significant project for African Americans in Washington, DC. Construction is expected to start in September on The Asberry, a mixed-use building with The Barry Farm redevelopment project in Ward 8 took a major step forward on Sept. 26 as District officials and residents broke ground on its first building under the auspices of the New Communities Initiative.
