So I came accross a guy selling a JD Liquidfire 440- not sure of the year but im guessing 1978 ish, he says it runs and Liquifire models were also produced for 1980 to 1984 and its configuration was a John Deere/Kawasaki TC440A (Mikuni, 2). To test for fuel delivery: turn off key, un-hook the fuel line at each carb, (you can do this 1 at time) place the line in a jar and pull over the engine and watch for fuel pumping out.
