Recently refurbished, the Cadenhead's Tasting Room offers guests the chance to sample a vast array of Cadenhead's bottlings - from our most recent releases to whiskies selected from the depths of our archives. Tucked away behind the Cadenhead's Campbeltown shop, the Cadenhead's Enigma Blended Malt 15 Years (48.2%, OB, 2023) Nose: It's rather shy at first. Somewhat flinty with mineral touches and a whiff of ozone. Pretty grain-forward too, this has an almost farmy, cereal-esque quality not unlike you'd expect from Bruichladdich. Given some time, fruitier and sweeter elements start popping up. We will definitely visit Cadenheads when we return to Edinburgh, as they have a fair number of Cadenhead cask strength whiskies as well as quite a number of distillery bottlings , including some rare ones. When we entered the shop, we were made welcome by a pleasant young man (Josh), who proved to be quite knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Part of our history, part of our future. We have been bottling rum since we were based in original location in Aberdeen. Former owner Robert Duthie, nephew of William Cadenhead, established the company as being known for bottling quality rums in the early 1900s. We are dedicated to honouring our traditions and methods so we have resurrected the 7-Stars name using whisky from distilleries all over Scotland. The blend is then finished in Oloroso sherry casks - giving it a bold and memorable flavour. At Cadenhead's we are proud to say that; We do not add artificial colouring. We do not chill filter. I originally wanted a Cask Strength Demerara but upon seeing that the postage and packing on the Cadenheads site was a princely £10, my infuriating logic took hold and I found myself buying this 50% Demerera blend and a 20cl bottle of the 1824 Cask Demerara Blend (68% ABV will be reviewed soon).
