In 1995, Kazuyo Sejima (born in 1956) and Ryue Nishizawa (born in 1966) founded SANAA, the Tokyo architecture studio that has designed innovative buildings in Japan and around the world. Examples of their, groundbreaking work include, among others, the Rolex Learning Center in Lausanne, Switzerland; the Toledo Museum of Art's Glass Pavilion in Toledo, Ohio; the New Museum of Contemporary Art Garden & House, Japan. Aside from domestic spaces such as a room for each owner, a restroom, a living area and a guestroom, this house for two editors also contains several office spaces for professional use. The small size and shape of the plot, a rectangle of 8 x 4 meters, as well as its position boxed in between two buildings measuring 30 Garden House in Tokyo. The Garden House in Tokyo was designed by Ryue Nishizawa. Located in a dynamic commercial district, can accommodate two people and it is the perfect encounter between living and workspace. The vertical townhouse consists of five horizontal layers in concrete slabs, connected through a spiral staircase.
