The hull was launched in December 2013. It is 488 metres (1,601 ft) long, 74 metres (243 ft) wide, and made with more than 260,000 tonnes of steel. The Prelude FLNG facility will produce 3.6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG, 1.3 mtpa of condensate and 0.4 mtpa of LPG. The Prelude FLNG facility is 488m long and 74m wide, making it the largest offshore floating facility ever built. The Prelude FLNG project will be operated by Shell in joint venture with INPEX (17.5%), KOGAS (10%) and Shell, along with its Joint Venture Partners INPEX, KOGAS and OPIC, today announced that the first shipment of Liquefied Natural Gas has sailed from Shell's Prelude Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) facility located 475kms North East of Broome in Western Australia.
