Our gallery shows part of our collection, which is mainly made up of cattleyas species from Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil and other countries. Venezuelan Cattleyas: lueddemanniana, mossiae, percivaliana, jenmanii, gaskelliana, violacea and lawrenceana. Each variety differed in some way from the plant of Mr. Cattley, either in color, blooming season or some similar horticultural aspect. Botanically, most of these one-leaved forms were considered as varieties and sub-varieties of Cattleya labiata. the original being termed C. labiata vera or the "true Cattleya labiata." Cattleya aclandiae: Brazil. Introduced in 1839 by Lady Akland, of Killerton, near Exeter, it was named for her by Dr. Lindley when he first described the species in the BOTANICAL REGISTER, in 1840. C. luddemanniana var. coerulea 'Kathleen' x C. luddemanniana var. coerulea 'Francisco' Good coerulea luddemanniana are very expensive, here we have combined two excellent cultivars. These are growing beautifully with good vigor. We love Cattleyas! And despite the name changes, the modern Cattleyas offer a wonderful range of colours and sizes to suit everyone. We are certainly not experts in breeding these beauties and instead of creating our own hybrids, we have opted to source plants from breeders in other countries.
