Inaugural Meeting 12th February 1918 MOM 12 Feb 1918 A short history Heading north up Ditchling Road, you see on the right a children's playground and some tennis courts. By then, tucked away behind a long hedge, you have passed a sporting facility renowned throughout Sussex over the past ninety years - Hollingbury Park Bowls Club. It was formed just before the end of the First World War, when Hollingbury Park Golf Course was originally designed in 1907 and remodelled in 1936. This is an ex Championship 18 hole Par 72 Course with spectacular sea views from the beautiful South Downs high above Brighton and Hove.
