Heimat (pronounced [ˈhaɪmaːt] ⓘ) is a German word translating to 'home' or 'homeland'. The word has connotations specific to German culture , German society and specifically German Romanticism , German nationalism , German statehood and regionalism so that it has no exact English equivalent. Mr. Stanley L. Bausinger, 80, of 1763 Northway Road Extension, Williamsport, died Saturday, June 23, 2007, at his home. Mr. Bausinger was a United States Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Bausinger served in the European Theatre of Operations and had been deployed in Germany. He was awarded the Army of Occupation While employed at two local McDonald's restaurants, Kayla Renay Bausinger, 33, of South Williamsport, stole a total of $30,000 from the restaurants over a two-year period, state police alleged concept of the Heimatrecht became unsuitable (Bausinger, 1986, p. 94).
